Our Story — The journey behind Isaiah 42 Church

Founders and pastors

Meet Eric & Monica

Eric serves as lead pastor of Isaiah 42 Church, teaching with a conviction that Scripture is meant to be lived in public. His focus is developing Kingdom leaders — people whose calling has been cultivated, not just discovered.

Monica serves alongside him with a particular heart for women, marriages, and families. She carries pastoral heart and apostolic culture of the house, and she is relentless about women growing and developing and making sure people are known by name.

We are a transformative community that puts high priority on community building, cultivating fellowship and unity amongst the believer while equally pointing the spiritual community toward the transformation, love, and care of all those we've been called to influence and impact in our neighborhood, city, marketplace, and the nations.

A new church. A bold vision.

Our Vision

Isaiah 42 Church exists to reveal Jesus Christ, awaken people to the light of the gospel, restore lives through His love and truth, equip believers for Kingdom service, and send disciples into the marketplace, communities, and nations to advance the mission of the kingdom through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Our church didn't start with a building. It started with a burden.

For years Eric and Monica served faithfully inside established ministries and endeavored into church planting in the state of Florida and also here in the Charlotte Metro area. Now they are following the leading of God into the Troutman and Mooresville communities. But one thing they've noticed are persistent gaps. Rooms full of gathered believers who've been taught and spiritually developed, and neighborhoods full of people who live minutes from a church and miles from the spiritual community.

Over an extended period of time, God kept returning them to one word, impact. Not influence. Not attendance. Impact. The visible mark a life leaves on people and places around it. That word has become a mandate, and the mandate has become the formation and deployment of an ecclesia/church now known as Isaiah 42 Church.

Why this region? Because Troutman, Mooresville, and the surrounding communities are growing, diversifying, and changing fast. And a church or spiritual community that genuinely reflects that diversity can carry the gospel and kingdom impact a homogeneous congregation never reaches. We believe the kingdom of God most genuinely reflects diversity and not singularity. Unity and oneness is what we seek to establish, crossing social and racial barriers that hinder true kingdom advancement and impact.

So we're seeking to build a Christ-centered multicultural community with a clear pathway to assemble people into authentic relationship, develop them into spiritually mature disciples and leaders that are daily and weekly sent out into their neighborhoods, workplaces, cities, and the nations to bring influence, reformation, and kingdom impact through Christ Jesus and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit.

The future we see is a congregation known less for its services and more for its sending — families made strong, leaders raised up, neighbors served and nations reached from a small town in North Carolina.

Our Biblical Commission

Called to be light.
Commissioned to go.

Isaiah 42:6–7 speaks of God’s Servant as a covenant for the people, a light to the nations, opening blind eyes and bringing prisoners out of darkness.

Isaiah 42 is ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. We participate in His mission by representing Him in the world. In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus commissions His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations.

The Seven Pillars

A people equipped.
A church sent.

01

Christ-Centered Kingdom Identity

Jesus is the center of everything. We are not building a personality-driven ministry but a people surrendered to the King, His teachings, His character, and His mission.

Colossians 1:18 • Matthew 6:33

02

Apostolic Sending and Mobilization

Every believer is equipped to represent Christ beyond the four walls. We identify, develop, commission, and send disciples into communities, cities, workplaces, and nations.

Ephesians 4:11–13 • Acts 13:1–3 • John 20:21

03

Marketplace Missionaries

We believe the marketplace is a mission field. Teachers, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, tradespeople, artists, professionals, and public servants are equipped to live out the gospel through integrity, excellence, relationships, and service.

Matthew 5:13–16 • Colossians 3:23–24

04

Community Transformation Through Love

We do not simply invite the community to church. We take the love of Christ into the community—serving struggling families, mentoring young people, supporting the vulnerable, and meeting practical needs.

Matthew 25:35–40 • James 2:14–17

05

Spiritual Awakening, Freedom, and Restoration

Rooted in Isaiah 42:7, we proclaim the gospel so that spiritual eyes are opened, lives are transformed, and people experience freedom in Christ. We emphasize prayer, biblical truth, healing, restoration, and compassionate discipleship.

Isaiah 42:7 • John 8:36 • Acts 26:18

06

Discipleship and Leadership Development

We develop spiritually mature disciples who know Scripture, demonstrate Christlike character, discover their gifts, and become servant leaders. Ministry belongs to the whole body, not just those with titles.

2 Timothy 2:2 • Ephesians 4:12 • 1 Peter 4:10

07

Evangelism, Multiplication, and Church Planting

We proclaim Jesus, make disciples, develop missional communities, raise up leaders, and multiply the work of the Kingdom. Our goal is not merely to grow one congregation but to extend the mission of Christ.

Matthew 28:19–20 • Acts 1:8 • Acts 14:21–23

Mission is our identity.

01Reach

Reveal Jesus Christ and invite people into the light of the gospel.

02Restore

Help people find freedom, healing and belonging through Christ’s love and truth.

03Equip

Develop disciples who know Scripture, grow in Christlike character and discover their gifts.

04Send

Commission believers to live out their calling in workplaces, communities and nations.

05Multiply

Make disciples, develop leaders and extend the mission of Christ.

We gather and go into the world. We make and multiply disciples, equip every believer for ministry, and build a continuing presence in the community. We measure discipleship, service and sending—not only attendance.

Corporate worship, biblical teaching, pastoral care and church fellowship remain essential to developing a healthy sending community.

Apostolic identity is not a leader’s title. It is demonstrated through biblical foundations, equipping believers, developing leaders, sending missionaries and multiplying disciples and churches.

The gathering is where believers are strengthened. The mission field is where their faith becomes visible.
